Tottenham face Crystal Palace at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 14. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
The Premier League season returns following the international break. On Saturday, Tottenham host Crystal Palace. Spurs have got off to a disappointing start to the season, picking up five points in their first four games. The early surprise this season has been Crystal Palace. The Eagles are fourth in the table with seven points.
Tottenham blew a two-goal lead against Arsenal in the North London derby. Spurs could have easily lost that game but an Arsenal goal was called back. Harry Kane again leads Tottenham in scoring with three goals. However, the England captain has been criticized in the media for diving or at least going down very easily. The criticism should only fuel Kane to prove them wrong against Palace. Mauricio Pochettino might have to make some adjustments in midfield. Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, and Ryan Sessegnon are all dealing with injuries and could miss Saturday’s game.
Despite scoring only three goals this season, Palace have seven of 12 points this season. If Palace are going to score on Saturday, it will likely involve Wilfried Zaha. The speedy winger drives the attack for Crystal Palace but has yet to score a goal this season. Zaha and Palace are both hoping that changes against Spurs. While the Eagles struggle to score goals, they have been incredible defensively. Only Manchester City have conceded fewer goals than Crystal Palace, who have only allowed three goals this season. Roy Hodgson has his team playing a very defensive system that is getting the most out of his team.
