FanSided will be tracking WWE Clash of Champions results all night long as they come in from the Spectrum Center in Charlotte.

Welcome to FanSided’s live coverage of the 2019 edition of WWE Clash of Champions.

After a year off of the schedule, WWE Clash of Champions returns tonight and as per usual, every single championship is on the line. Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins are going to have a busy night as they’ll first defend their Raw Tag Team Championship on the line before later battling one another for the WWE Universal Championship. The New Day has a big night going as well as Big E and Xavier Woods will defend their SmackDown Tag Team Championship against The Revival while Kofi Kingston once again takes on Randy Orton in defense of his WWE Championship in a SummerSlam rematch.

The women’s division features the Four Horsewomen all battling for gold with Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks going at it for the Raw Women’s Championship and Bayley defending her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair. The tag titles will also be on the line as Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross try to fend off Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, who beat the champs in a non-title matchup a couple of weeks ago.

All the mid-card titles are up for grabs and a big grudge match between Roman Reigns and Erick Rowan rounds out the card for Clash of Champions. Before getting to the main show, however, we’ll start as always with the results and highlights from the Kickoff Show. It’s not yet known which matches will be featured there but it’s likely that the triple threat match for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship will find its way there.

Let’s get the night rolling with the Kickoff Show and then move on to the main card, which will begin at 7:00 p.m Eastern/4:00 Pacific. Be sure to bookmark this page or just keep checking back in with FanSided all night long for all the results and highlights from the 2019 edition of WWE Clash of Champions.

Let’s roll.

WWE Clash of Champions 2019 Kickoff Show results

In a non-shocking turn of events, the triple threat match for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship is kicking the night off.

Drew Gulak def. Lince Dorado and Humberto Carrillo (pinfall on Dorado) to retain WWE Cruiserweight Championship

Another solid outing for the cruiserweight division, minus that sloppy finish anyway. I was happy to see the live crowd get into this one. We even got a “This is Awesome” chant there for a minute. I wasn’t surprised by the outcome but I was very pleased that Humberto Carrillo got a chance to shine in this match. With him not being the one to take the pin, this should set up a one-on-one match with Gulak next month at Hell in a Cell.

Uh oh … Cedric Alexander is from Charlotte. I think we all know what happens when you wrestle in your hometown.

AJ Styles def. Cedric Alexander via pinfall to retain WWE United States Championship

That was a fun sprint. Styles and Alexander could put on a five-star classic if given the proper amount of time but this did what it needed to do. It gave Cedric some time to shine on a bigger stage, especially in the early portion of the match, but he was never going to win this match. The O.C. giving him a quick beatdown following the bout leads me to believe that this isn’t the last time we’ll see these two go at it.

Let’s get to the main card. Looks like the Raw Tag Team Championship Match will be kicking things off.

Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode def. Seth Rollins & Braun Strowman via pinfall to win Raw Tag Team Championship

I figured Rollins and Strowman would be losing the titles to set up a little friction for later on so this wasn’t much of a shock. I thought it’d be a little more dramatic than it was but it still works. Braun’s interview after about Seth losing the titles and not him was a nice touch. Fun start to the show.

The SmackDown Women’s Championship Match is up next. As it was with Cedric Alexander, Charlotte Flair has to wrestle in her hometown. If anyone can buck the usual trend, it’s her. Or maybe not.

Bayley def. Charlotte Flair via pinfall to retain SmackDown Women’s Championship

There wasn’t a ton of time for highlights in this one. Charlotte controlled most of the match but Bayley picked up the cheap win by exposing the turnbuckle and knocking Charlotte into it. Afterward, she just ran off. Interesting.

The focus stays on the blue brand next with the SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match.

The Revival def. The New Day via submission to win SmackDown Tag Team Championship

Wow, I wasn’t expecting that. Dash and Dawson picked up a clean win over Big E and Xavier Woods — and a submission win at that, with Woods tapping out. They played up the knee injury from a few weeks back, which was a nice touch.

And, of course, let’s not forget on a night full of championship matches that R-Truth is in the building. Hilarious.

The Women’s Tag Team Championship is up next. With Alexa Bliss and Mandy Rose in the same match, what is Corey Graves gonna do?

Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross def. Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville via pinfall to retain WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship

That went about as expected. Nikki and Alexa picked up the win and they should have put the 24/7 title on Bliss as well. Oh well, maybe next time.

It’s Intercontinental Championship time and Sami Zayn has a microphone like he’s Lio Rush. Wow, remember that guy?

Shinsuke Nakamura def. The Miz via pinfall to retain WWE Intercontinental Championship

Well, there goes the mic.

https://twitter.com/WWEUniverse/status/1173392436480987136

I really thought The Miz was going to win this match to tie Chris Jericho’s record of nine Intercontinental Championship reigns but that obviously didn’t happen. Shinsuke picked up the win with Zayn causing distractions. Classically cheap booking here.

The Raw Women’s Championship Match is up next.

Sasha Banks def. Becky Lynch via disqualification, Lynch retains Raw Women’s Championship

Things got a little crazy in that one, didn’t they? I’m not sure how the ref gets knocked out with a chair shot to the arm but let’s not read that much into things. This had the most intense build coming into Clash of Champions and the match itself followed suit.

We knew going in that there wouldn’t be just one match in this rivalry and with no clear winner or loser, we know we’ll see this one again — likely inside the confines of Hell in a Cell.

Kofi Kingston def. Randy Orton via pinfall to retain WWE Championship

And after a decade, Kofi Kingston finally has his clean win on Randy Orton and his WWE Championship reign continues. No screwy finish. No outside interference. Just a one-on-one win for the champ. I’m not sure if that’s the last we’ll see of this rivalry but for now, KofiMania continues.

No Disqualification Match: Erick Rowan def. Roman Reigns via pinfall

We certainly didn’t see that one coming. So much for Luke Harper just sitting out the rest of his contract. I think we were all expecting Daniel Bryan to get involved to help Rowan get the win but we get The Bludgeon Brothers reunion instead. This should be fun moving forward.

Seth Rollins def. Braun Strowman via pinfall to retain WWE Universal Championship

And right after I said “those lights need to go out,” those lights went out and we got The Fiend, who attacked Rollins at the top of the ramp. Beautiful.

Thanks for following along with FanSided for the 2019 edition of WWE Clash of Champions. We’ll see you next month for Hell in a Cell.
