DraftKings PGA: Sanderson Farms Championship Picks and Analysis

Welcome back PGA Tour golf! My picks were not incredibly impressive in week one at The Greenbrier Classic, but I was on your winner Joaquin Niemann. It was an impressive start for the young Chilean golfer. His play was trending and we were able to exploit it. Congrats if you also were on Niemann. Let’s see if we can run it back this week at the Sanderson Farms and grab another winner.

This week, the PGA Tour heads to Jackson, Mississippi for the Sanderson Farms Championship. The field is quite weak yet again, and most of the guys will be nursing hangovers from the nightlife at the Greenbrier. Your 2018 champ was Champ, Cameron that is. Showing that this course can be overpowered. However, tournament officials have increased the difficulty of this rough, making it more difficult to bomb and gouge.

The Country Club of Jackson is not an extremely difficult challenge. The Par-72 course sits at 7,421 yards. The greens will feature Bermudagrass, which is a huge advantage for certain golfers who are familiar with the surface (also known as Bermuda specialists). There will be plenty of birdies to be had, with the winning score likely landing between -15 and -20. The 2018 leaderboard tended to favor bombers, but there was a healthy mix of accuracy golfers too. Excellent tee-to-green ball strikers will dominate my lineups this week.

The reason why I chose these key stats is that I believe this course will suit bomber – ball-strikers that are accurate off the tee and on approach. DK scoring favors golfers who score and hit birdies. I weight Par 5’s gained because it is a par 72 course (4 par 5’s).
