Joe Montana Division

4. Aaron Rodgers (LW: 6)

Rodgers and the Packers are revitalized with Matt LaFleur at the helm. Through two games, Rodgers has thrown for 412 yards and three touchdowns, a paltry amount in both categories by his standards. Still, the film shows the two-time MVP regaining his powers.

3. Russell Wilson (LW: 5)

Wilson is never going to have the stats of other quarterbacks, largely because offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer’s reliance on the run. Regardless, Wilson has long been brilliant, and already with five touchdown passes, he’s helping carry Seattle to a great start.

2. Tom Brady (LW: 2)

Brady is 42 years old, and he might play another 42 seasons. In two games against the Steelers and Dolphins, the future first-ballot Hall of Famer has 605 passing yards with five touchdowns and no turnovers. It’s mind-boggling.

1. Patrick Mahomes (LW: 1)

Who else? Mahomes isn’t regressing. He’s breaking the conventional thinking of every football fan/analyst/observer on earth. In two games, Mahomes has thrown for 821 yards. That’s 92 more than Dalton, who ranks second. Mahomes also has seven touchdowns, no interceptions and is averaging a comical 10.7 yards per attempt. If this continues, Mahomes will win his second consecutive MVP.
