Here are the quick and dirty results and highlights for the September 16, 2019 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw.

With Clash of Champions behind us, it’s time for WWE to reboot on the road to Hell in a Cell, another brand split and SmackDown Live heading to FOX in just a few weeks.

Braun Strowman crashes the party

The Revival and Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode attempted to celebrate their respective WWE Tag Team Championship victories from Clash of Champions, but an irate Braun Strowman wasn’t having it, crashing the party and beating up all four men.

The O.C. versus Cedric Alexander and The Viking Raiders

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows have an issue with The Viking Raiders and Cedric Alexander has unfinished business with AJ Styles, so the two sides squared off in a six-man tag match. Styles got the win over Alexander with a Phenomenal Forearm. Post-match, another brawl broke out and Styles hit Alexander with a second-rope Styles Clash.

King of the Ring final: Baron Corbin versus Chad Gable

As expected, Baron Corbin is our new WWE King of the Ring, defeating Chad Gable via End of Days. Corbin will have his coronation celebration on SmackDown Live on Tuesday.

Kanellis drama

Mike and Maria Kanellis have a gender reveal party for their unborn child. It’s revealed that they will be having a boy; Maria, meanwhile, claims that Ricochet and not Mike is the father of the child. That leads to a match between Mike and Ricochet. Ricochet wins with the Recoil.

Post-break, Maria reveals that it isn’t Ricochet who is the father — that was just a ploy to get Mike in the fighting mood. Rather, it’s (the returning) Rusev who is apparently the father of the child. Rusev and Mike then have a match, with Rusev winning via Accolade.

So, where is this going? Why is this happening? And where is Lana?

24/7 Championship shenanigans

Kane, the Mayor of Knox County (where Raw took place this week) took 24/7 Champion R-Truth and Carmella on a tour of the Tennessee Volunteers’ stadium, where Kane then revealed he had a referee with him. Truth tries to escape, but runs into a goal post and knocks himself out, allowing Kane to pin him and win the 24/7 Championship.

Later in the night, Truth hid on top of Kane’s limo and ambushed him, allowing him to win back the 24/7 title.

Rey Mysterio versus Cesaro

Rey Mysterio defeated Cesaro after a series of counters led Mysterio to hit Cesaro with a sunset bomb for the win. Mysterio continues to shake off the retirement scare he gave us last month and have dream matches with (let’s assume) opponents of his choosing. Still, it would be nice for Cesaro to get more wins after looking so sharp at NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff.

Bayley and Sasha Banks versus Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss

The former inaugural WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions took on the current champs in a non-title match. This quickly became a two-on-one affair after Bliss begged off with an injury. That allowed Banks to pick up an easy win on Cross via Banks Statement.

Banks then attempted to attack Cross with a steel chair, which prompted Becky Lynch to come out. This was another two-on-one fight, with Lynch facing down Banks and Bayley until Charlotte Flair came out to assist Lynch. Lynch attacked banks with a steel chair.

Banks challenged Lynch to a Raw Women’s Championship match at Hell in a Cell; Lynch agreed to the fight and said that the match will also take place in Hell in a Cell.

Lacey Evans versus Dana Brooke

Lacey Evans defeated Dana Brooke via Women’s Right, then locked in a Sharpshooter, indicating that her feud with Natalya is in fact, not over.

Authors of Pain return, cut a promo

Seth Rollins versus Robert Roode

Seth Rollins took on Robert Roode in the night’s main event. This ultimately devolved into chaos, with Roode’s tag title partner Dolph Ziggler breaking up one of Rollins’ pin attempt. The O.C. then hit the ring, and they, with Roode and Ziggler, all beat down Rollins.

Kane came out to attempt to make the save, but this was interrupted by Bray Wyatt’s Fiend, who attacked Kane using the Mandible Claw. Wyatt then crawled up to Rollins — a truly terrifying sight — to close the show. Those two will also be meeting up at Hell in a Cell for Rollins’ Universal Championship.
