2020 NFL mock draft: Bengals land Justin Herbert
By Brad Weiss
The Miami Dolphins swung another trade for a first round pick on Monday, sending Minkah Fitzpatrick to the Pittsburgh Steelers for draft capital.
The 2019 NFL season is entering Week 3, and after only two weeks of play, you can already see teams moving away from the pack, whether in a good way, or a bad one. On Monday, the Miami Dolphins continued to trade away key players for draft picks, this time sending Minkah Fitzpatrick to the Pittsburgh Steelers for a third first rounder in 2020.
Here is our latest 2020 NFL mock draft.
If the Tank for Tua campaign was not on last week, it is certain on this week, as the Miami Dolphins continue to shed talented players for draft picks. While we can get into that later, when we discuss their other two first round picks next April, the Dolphins first pick in 2020, which should be No. 1 overall, will come to them based on their ineptness on the football field.
While the team did bring in Josh Rosen this offseason, he could not even beat out Ryan Fitzpatrick, so there is no way he is the future in South Beach. With the top pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, expect the Dolphins to go after the biggest name in this draft class, adding Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa at No. 1.
There is no doubt that Tua can make all the throws, but you worry how he will do in Year No. 1 in the NFL, especially with no talent around him. The Dolphins are hoping their five first round picks can help turn the franchise around, much like the Oakland Raiders are hoping, because at this point, Alabama could probably beat them.
The race to see when Daniel Jones takes over for Eli Manning is over in New York, as the Giants fell to 0-2 with a horrible showing against the Buffalo Bills. In fact, the Bills have now beaten both the Giants and the New York Jets inside Metlife Stadium in consecutive weeks, and have staked their claim as the “only” team in New York per quarterback Josh Allen.
Looking at this Giants roster, there is a lot of help needed, but there are also some bright spots. They do have talent on the offensive side of the ball, especially at running back, where former No 2 overall pick Saquon Barkley continues to asset himself as the most dynamic player at his position in football.
On defense, not so much, as the Giants defensive side of the ball has looked absolutely putrid over the first two weeks. They need help on all three levels, and if they can snag the No. 2 overall pick once again, they should look to get the best overall defensive player in this draft class, and that would be Ohio State star Chase Young, who is a monster off the edge.
