AEW on TNT has an official name: Dynamite
All Elite Wrestling’s weekly show on TNT officially has a name, the company revealed on Thursday.
Since All Elite Wrestling announced that it would be airing weekly live on TNT, there has been rampant speculation about what the exact name of the show would be. Would it just be “All Elite Wrestling,” or “AEW on TNT,” or would the “Wednesday Night Dynamite” trademark the company recently filed point to the show’s actual name?
It looks like the latter is the case, with AEW tweeting on Thursday a reminder that their weekly show debuts on October 2 and including the hashtag #AEWDynamite. The company also confirmed All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite is the name of the show via a press release.
AEW also released a promo trailer for the show:
On Wednesday, Wrestling Inc. reported that at least on Xfinity’s television listings that All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite was the show set for the 8:00 PM Eastern time slot (an hour earlier there is also a countdown special, entitled Countdown to All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite). And now it has been confirmed by the company itself.
The debut episode of Dynamite already has a number of big matches announced. The first match to air will see Cody face Sammy Guevara. The company will also crown its first Women’s Champion, as Nyla Rose faces Riho. Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks will take on Chris Jericho and two mystery partners of his choosing and MJF will face Brandon Cutler. Jon Moxley is also scheduled to appear.
More matches could be announced soon, as the October 2 premier rapidly approaches. But also expect All Elite Wrestling to play things a little close to the vest as well, and leave a number of surprises for the show itself. That could also include new roster members who haven’t been revealed.
But at least now we know what AEW’s show on TNT will be called, officially.
