NFL DraftKings: Quarterbacks

Patrick Mahomes $7,600

Mahomes is the best football player on the planet. However, this might be the last week that he’ll be included in my article. It’s just too obvious at this point. Recommending that you target Mahomes in your lineups is like recommending that you bend over and pick up $20 that you find on the road. Duh.

Lamar Jackson $7,000

It seems impossible that this game won’t be a shootout, but the same would have been said about the 49ers and Bucs before Week 1 along with the Rams and Saints before Week 2. Opposing quarterbacks have struggled at Arrowhead in the past, and if Jackson even regresses to a still respectable 20 points, you have to ask whether he’s worth the $7,000 price tag. Mahomes and Jackson are the safest cash game plays, but there could be some logic to spending down in a GPP just to get away from the huge ownership Jackson will carry in Week 3.

Kyler Murray $5,800

Murray has started his NFL career off with a bang and followed up his outstanding 25.6 point Week 1 by dropping 19.4 last Sunday. The stars are aligning for another big game this week.

What’s most surprising about Murray’s hot start is that he’s been able to average 22.5 points per game while only recording 17 rushing yards on 6 carries. If he starts compiling a few points on the ground, look out! This will be one of the fastest games of the week and Murray being outside of the top 10 in quarterback pricing presents one of the best value plays on the slate. He’s the first place I’m looking if I’m fading Mahomes or Jackson.

Kyle Allen $4,000

This is obviously completely dependent upon the status of Cam Newton for this week’s game. However, assuming Allen gets the start, he’ll be surrounded by an explosive cast of weapons led by Christian McCaffrey, D.J. Moore, Curtis Samuel, and the ageless Greg Olsen. The Cardinals are allowing over 300 passing yards per game, and Allen proved last year that he’s capable of slinging it. Plugging him in at only $4,000 really allows you to build some impressive looking lineups this week.
