Upset picks in a loaded slate of college football games are always more fun and thatās exactly whatās on deck for Week 4. So which teams are on upset alert?
College football fans looking for potential upset picks one week ago may have had a difficult time circling the right games on the schedule. After all, we were looking at a slate of games with no matchups between ranked opponents and, on the whole, with no real buzz about the contests in place. That didnāt stop the upsets from happening (or nearly happening), though, as we now head into Week 4.
The ādown weekā that weāre coming out of actually turned out to be quite enthralling. From a stunning Iowa-Iowa State game where the Hawkeyes narrowly edged out the rival Cyclones to Temple absolutely shocking a potential juggernaut in Maryland along with Arizona State grinding out an upset over Michigan State as BYU also did with USC, it was a truly fun week. But as fun as it was, it was just a prequel for whatās to come.
Week 4 of the 2019 college football season could well be one of the best weeks of the entire season. This is a week that features a matchup between two top-10 teams (Notre Dame and Georgia), a pair of teams in the top 15 squaring off (Michigan and Wisconsin) and another pairing of top-20 sqauds going head-to-head (Texas A&M and Auburn). As a fan, can you really ask for games better than that.
As high-profile games of that magnitude in addition to big-time conference battles start to take place, the potential for upsets starts to dramatically increase throughout college football. And while itās always enjoyable to see great teams dominate, is there anything more fun than making upset picks and seeing them come to fruition? Of course not.
Having that in mind and while we look at the Week 4 college football slate, letās put some teams on upset alert. While we have to give a shoutout to No. 10 Utah on Friday night going on the road to face USC and also to No. 22 Washington as they also hit the road against BYU, they donāt make the cut here. These are the five teams most in danger of losing in Week 4.
