Not much has changed after Week Two. Dominant performances keep this ranking where it was a week ago, for the most part.

If you missed the Week One rankings you can find them here. This past week in the NFL offered more of the same dating back to last week. The best teams are separating themselves from the pack via dominant performances from their quarterback as well as exposing the weaknesses of their opponents.

That’s not to say that that every team that gets off to a fast start will continue for the next 14 games. Take the 2015 Atlanta Falcons for example, who started off 5-0, then wound up finishing the season 8-8 and missing the playoffs. On the other side, look at the 2018 Houston Texans, who stumbled out to an 0-3 start only to win the AFC South at 11-5.

Only five players make this ranking week in and week out, but that’s not to say there won’t be movement moving forward. The 2-0 Bills are 2-0 at MetLife Stadium this year versus the Jets and Giants. Their quarterback is a big reason why. While still improving as a passer, he’s shown considerable improvement from his rookie year.

The Chargers’ Austin Ekeler has shown prowess as a runner and pass catcher through two weeks. He’s been the workhorse the team has needed without Melvin Gordon. Though that could suggest that the Charger’s backfield is essentially a plug-and-play type backfield.

Jimmy Garoppolo, Russell Wilson, Myles Garrett, etc. round out the other players under consideration who have played very well to start the season.

Still extremely early in the season and early enough where this ranking could be flipped upside down by Week 5, it appears though that some of these players are here to stay.
