Dalvin Cook, Minnesota Vikings (Last Week: No. 4)

There are a ton of guys that can be placed in this spot. After only two weeks, I don’t think the sample size is large enough to warrant other NFL players.

Dalvin Cook, who leads the league in rushing and who had a better game in Week Two than he did in Week One is becoming the running back the Vikings had hoped when they selected him in the second round.

Cook has gained a total of 265 yards on the ground through two games and has managed to average 6.5 yards per carry. Less relying on the arm of Kirk Cousins, Cook is allowing the Vikings to minimize the opportunity for Cousins to win the game through the air, which can be highlighted as the reason the Vikings didn’t reach their full potential.

Head coach Mike Zimmer and offensive advisor Gary Kubiak prioritize being able to run the ball. In light of this, Cook is primed for a “breakout” year and we’re seeing the benefits.

The Vikings have a date with Jon Gruden and the Oakland Raiders in Minnesota This game will feature Cook and the NFL’s fourth leading rusher in rookie first rounder Josh Jacobs.
