Fantasy football picks: Week 3  SNF Browns vs. Rams

Nick Chubb – There is nothing like getting the potential highest scoring player at a good discount for a single-game slate. Chubb is coming off a very solid week against the Jets, in a game that we all knew was going to be an easy win for Cleveland. It is pretty frustrating that Nick isn’t getting more snaps. Only logging 65% so far on the year, while Johnson has still been getting around 25-30% of the snaps. Still, Chubb has done well with his playing time, averaging almost four yards per carry, and catching 7 passes. The volume will hopefully pick up, as Kitchens keeps saying he wants to involve Chubb more, but we have yet to see it. The Rams got bullied in week one on the ground, only to shut down Kamara in week two. They have a really good pass defense, that may force Cleveland to run the ball more often. In which case, Chubb should see great success.

Todd Gurley – As you have probably figured out, this section is running back heavy. Gurley is seeing similar snap counts, at 64% on the year, giving up 34% of the snaps to Malcom Brown. Although, in week two Gurley did get 16 rushing attempts to Browns six, and was still involved in the passing game. Cleveland has had a slight weakness against elite rushers, and the Rams offense is much better than the Jets who they saw the last week. It’s unlikely that Gurley reaches over 20 carries per game like he was previously, but the upside is still there, and I would expect him to see most of the red-zone work going forward. At 12k this should be a popular play.
