10. Sage Surratt, WR, Wake Forest

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons moved to 4-0 on the season with a Week 4 win over Elon. And while that’s not a tough matchup, sophomore wide receiver Sage Surratt has continually put up big numbers this season and continued to do so in the victory on Saturday afternoon. And it’s impossible to ignore his individual success for a seemingly good football team.

On Saturday, Surratt added eight catches for 112 yards and two touchdowns to his total for the season. He now has 30 catches for 484 yards and five touchdowns through just the first four games of the year, scoring in every game thus far. With that and his dangerous abilities as a punt returner, he could be a true dark horse contender if he keeps this up.

9. Anthony Gordon, QB, Washington State

While Washington State suffered a tough loss to UCLA on Saturday night in one of the upsets of the week, the Cougars can’t pin the loss on quarterback Anthony Gordon. Yes, the signal-caller did have two interceptions, but three second-half fumbles by his wide receivers allowed their opponents to make the comeback in the first place. Furthermore, the potential Heisman candidate did all he could to keep his team in the game.

Gordon finished the matchup with an unreal night going 41-of-61 for 570 yards with nine touchdowns and two interceptions. That now gives him 19 passing touchdowns through four weeks and it’s clear that the Wazzu offensive leader is the real deal at this point. He just needs his team around him to help him out on occasion at this point.
