Four-Way Dance

Initially, The Four Horsewomen started out very different than the personas they display on WWE today. Slowly but surely they each started to carve out names for themselves on the NXT brand. They’d developed a bond outside the ring as well and it translated to the ring in spectacular fashion. People started to sit up and take notice.

NXT TakeOver: Rival is when the four of them really had an opportunity to shine. They’ve each said all they needed was an opportunity and they will make the most of it. At Rival, they were given the chance to show what they could do as in-ring performers and they delivered in a big way.

"“I feel like that match is what really put us on the map and how people started calling us The Four Horsewoman. We just wanted to make magic and we wanted people to care. We wanted people to watch our matches and go, ‘Wow, these girls can definitely change the game.’ And now here we are.” — Sasha Banks, ESPN.COM"

Banks picked up the win but it was the collective effort of all four during this match that caught everyone’s attention. This match is the moment in time when people really looked at them as a unit poised to make a big impact on the business.

Like the old lore of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse who symbolize the end of days, a shift in women’s wrestling was starting and the Four Horsewomen were the ones to bring it. They were the future of the industry and they were no longer content to sit on the sidelines. They were here to take over.
