Iron Woman Match

When Bayley and Sasha Banks faced off for the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn they made such an impact that a second match was almost a requirement. Fans wanted to see these two battle again. With Banks moving to the main roster this would be her last match in NXT and it had to be special.

As documented on the WWE Network special Breaking Ground, Triple H pulled the women aside and let them know that not only would they be main eventing the next NXT TakeOver, called Respect, but the match would be a 30-minute Iron Woman Match. This would be a double-first for women in the business and the prestige of it brought Banks to tears as she proclaimed, “I’m nervous” to which Bayley responded, “Dude, we can do it.”

By the time the match rolled around the two of them were more than ready to cement their spot in history. With throwbacks to their first match at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, they told a story with each fall.

Bayley would capture the victory to retain her title while Banks would say her farewell to NXT and head to the main roster. Both women had tears in their eyes by the end and their fellow Horsewomen, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, joined Banks at the top of the entrance ramp, along with the entire NXT locker room, who applauded the amazing performances in an epic match.
