NFL quarterback rankings, Week 4: Baker Mayfield must be better
Gary Hogeboom Division
28. Case Keenum (LW: 23)
Keenum is ultimately the placeholder for Dwayne Haskins. With the Redskins floundering in the NFC East, one would imagine a move coming sooner rather than later.
27. Joe Flacco (LW: 25)
Flacco is actually completing 69 percent of his throws, but only has a pair of touchdowns against two interceptions. It’s low-risk, low-reward, and the Broncos are 0-3 due in part.
26. Teddy Bridgewater (LW: 27)
Bridgewater did a nice job of managing the game on Sunday in New Orleans’ 33-27 win. Until Drew Brees comes back, Bridgewater will keep the Saints afloat provided the rest of the team is terrific. He’s a game-manager to the hilt.
25. Daniel Jones (LW: NA)
Jones looked fantastic in his pro debut, earning a thrilling 32-31 victory over Tampa Bay. The Giants are going to get a more diverse passing attack with their rookie, especially on downfield throws. So why is Jones ranked here? He’s played one game, and three passes were dropped by defenders. Still, excellent start.
24. Marcus Mariota (LW: 21)
Thursday night gave us the greatest example of why box score analysis is a waste. Mariota threw for more than 300 yards, but was horrific throughout the night. At some point, the Titans have to seriously consider going to Ryan Tannehill.
23. Mitchell Trubisky (LW: 26)
Trubisky was terrible the first two games this season. Against the Redskins, he was marginally better in Chicago’s blowout win. Can he continue to trend upwards?
