WWE NXT UK preview September 25, 2019: Watch online
By Jeremy Klein
Previewing the September 25 edition of NXT UK, featuring a main event of Noam Dar versus Trent Seven.
What is Noam Dar’s deal? He’s obviously very skilled in the ring, probably one of the most entertaining performers in NXT UK. But like, how skilled is he actually? Because a lot of the time, he seems less concerned with being great and more concerned with being as extremely obnoxious as possible.
Recently, that behavior took the form of bragging about a clause in his contract — which is very lucrative by the way — that guaranteed him a spot on the card at TakeOver: Cardiff. Of course, he then actually did make it onto TakeOver, and had a really good opening match with Travis Banks. And he won! Obnoxious but entertaining, entertaining but obnoxious: the two seem to go hand-in-hand.
A couple of weeks ago, Dar called a press conference where he feigned a serious announcement, before proclaiming to be the best, the “star player” of NXT UK. As if his head wasn’t swelling big enough, now he’s got the glory of a TakeOver victory pumping air into there. Not everyone, however, is convinced by Dar’s claims to star status. Trent Seven happened to be loudly taking a phone call in a corner during the festivities, something that didn’t sit well with Dar.
Upon being confronted, Seven seemed rather confused as to why this press conference was even happening. He then took out his phone to call Drake Maverick — who took a break from not consummating his marriage to answer — to ask if the 205 Live General Manager would take Dar back, before questioning the media as to what they were even doing there. Seems like there’s probably some other UK news going on they should probably be covering.
Last week, Dar decided to give Seven a taste of what it’s like to have someone talk very loudly nearby and annoy you when you’re trying to go about your business. Emerging with a megaphone, Dar proclaimed Trent Seven to be a dafty and — in a mocking tone — hit him with the most devastating insult imaginable one can hurl towards man with a nice moustache: “Nice moustache.” Brutal.
Things escalated a little too far however, when Noam invoked the good name of British Strong Style, relishing in getting under Seven’s skin by saying such hurtful things as “RIP B.S.S.” Seven wanted to knock Dar’s head off his shoulders, but the two were separated by random people in neutral-colored t-shirts, as always seems to be the case in these situations.
Unfortunately for Dar, the short-term satisfaction of a successful pestering may yield painful long-term consequences. For, it seems Noam Dare has obnoxious-ed his way into a real fight. A main event fight with a guy who wants to crush him like the bug he’s perceived to be. Time to find out what exactly Noam Dar’s deal is.
