Week 16 of the DraftKings CFL season is almost here! Let’s take a look at the DraftKings fantasy football slate for week 16.

Let’s dive directly into my DraftKings CFL player selections for week 16. Let’s kick things off with the quarterback position!

DraftKings CFL: Quarterbacks

Cody Fajardo-Saskatchewan Roughriders $9,800

After watching how dreadfully bad the Roughriders offense was in 2018 I still am somewhat surprised at how well the team has played on offense in 2019. Most football fans know just how important the quarterback position is in this sport. Having said that, what is the key difference in the Roughriders offense this year compared to last year? The quarterback, Mr. Fajardo.

In my opinion, Cody Fajardo is an outstanding CFL quarterback. He has shown this year that he certainly belongs in this league. Now that I have outlined Fajardo’s talent as a quarterback, let’s shift our focus to his week 16 opponent.

This week, Fajardo draws the Toronto Argonauts. Toronto’s defense is not good. Additionally, the Argonauts secondary has been shredded by quarterbacks all year. Though 11 games in 2019, the Argonauts are allowing an average of 329.8 yards a game, which ranks dead last in the CFL.

Last week, Toronto allowed 346 yards and a passing touchdown to the Calgary Stampeders. I fully expect Fajardo to exploit the Argonauts secondary just as Calgary did in week 15.

Chris Streveler-Winnipeg Blue Bombers $9,600

Although Streveler does not play like a quarterback in a traditional sense, he certainly performs from a fantasy football perspective. The man compiles a ton of DraftKings points for DFS lineups by running as well as passing the football.

I frankly do not care how a quarterback gets DFS points for my DraftKings lineup. It does not have to be pretty. For me, the bottom line is that the player performs at a high level.

Having stated that, Streveler draws a Hamilton Tiger-Cats team that certainly has had it’s issues with giving up rushing yards this season. The Tiger-Cats are allowing an average of 98.2 rushing yards a game in 2019.

In my opinion, Streveler will continue to perform for fantasy football lineups in week 16. He will certainly be in a large amount of my DraftKings lineups, no doubt about it.

DraftKings CFL: Running Back

Andrew Harris-Winnipeg Blue Bombers $10,100

Harris returned to the starting lineup in week 15 and looked like the best running back in the league. Harris appeared highly motivated after returning from a two game suspension. I fully expect Harris to continue his outstanding play in week 16 versus a Hamilton team that has struggled all season to stop running backs.

Just to further validate my selection of Harris this week, let’s take a quick look at what he did in week 15 at Montreal. Harris had 12 carries for 76 yards rushing yards. Additionally, Harris had five receptions for 112 yards. Fade Harris at your own risk. I certainly won’t.

Does Harris arrive on the slate at a high cost? Absolutely. In my opinion, this running back is worth every penny.

DraftKings CFL: Wide Receiver

Bryan Burnham-B.C. Lions $9,600

The Lions were expected to be a playoff team in 2019. However, the team lost 10 of 11 games to start the season. The Lions looked like a team that may not win another game.

However, the Lions have turned things around on offense. The data clearly shows that quarterback Mike Reilly and wide receiver Bryan Burnham are the main reasons the offense has started to excel recently.

Let me provide the data I just made reference to in my previous statement. Reilly and Burnham have connected early and often over the last three football games. Burnham has an impressive 25 receptions in that three game span!

The Lions play Montreal at home in week 16. Montreal is a team that is vulnerable on pass defense. I think Burnham will have another game with 8-10 receptions and possibly over 100 yards receiving.

Bralon Addison-Hamilton Tiger-Cats  $9,400

Adison has been a focal point of this offense all season. Adison has 78 receptions in 2019, which is the most by any player in the CFL.

Additionally, it has to be said that Adision clearly has a chemistry with Hamilton quarterback Dane Evans. Adison’s production has increased on offense since Evans was inserted into the starting lineup.

Although Hamilton draws a Winnipeg team with a respectable defense this week, I still have to recommend Adison due to the high volume of targets I expect him to have in week 16.

DraftKings CFL: Defense

B.C. Lions $4,000

I recommended the Lions defense at a value DraftKings CFL price in week 15 and I am going back to them again this week. Why? Well, first of all the Lions arrive on the slate at a DraftKings CFL price of only $4,000. Additionally, I love the fact that the Lions draw a Montreal team in week 16 that will NOT have starting quarterback Vernon Adams, Jr.

The Lions will face a Montreal offense that will be starting back up quarterback Matthew Shiltz. Let’s be clear, Shiltz is no where near the talent level of a Vernon Adams, Jr. The man is a back up for a reason.

Additionally, the Lions have averaged 14.5 DraftKings points over the last two football games. I would not be shocked at all if the Lions were the highest performing DraftKings defense in week 16. I think Shiltz will likely throw a few interceptions and take multiple sacks.

I should also note that this football game will be a home game for the B.C. Lions. For me, BC Place is one of the toughest stadiums for a visiting team to play in the CFL. Good luck Mr. Shiltz!

As always, good luck!
