NFL DFS game by game breakdown: Week 4
By Joe Metz
NFL DFS: Seattle Seahawks @ Arizona Cardinals
Seattle Seahawks
If there’s one team that I plan to fully stack in all formats this week, it’s the Seahawks. The Cardinals rank 19th in rush DVOA, 23rd in pass DVOA and allow the 3rd most fantasy points per game to QBs on the season. This bodes extremely well for the entire offense, but Russell Wilson in particular Over the past two weeks, he’s thrown for more than 700 yards and 5 TDs while rushing for 73 yards and 2 more scores. While I don’t expect the rushing touchdowns to keep pace, it’s nice to see that he’s back to exploiting his speed on the ground. He’s my top overall quarterback on the slate not named Patrick Mahomes.
Tyler Lockett is a must if you’re looking to pair a receiver, as he’s been a target machine since his disappearing act in week 1, recording 28 targets over the last two weeks and hold an overall target% of 27.52%. D.K. Metcalf is a fine GPP option, but if I’m targeting another receiving option, it’d be TE Will Dissly. I continue to harp on TEs against the Cardinals, but to reiterate:
- Week 1 (TJ Hockenson): 100+ yards and a TD
- Week 2 (Mark Andrews): 100+ yards and a TD
- Week 3 (Greg Olsen): 75 yards and 2 TDs
He’s only $5,400 on FanDuel and $3,600 on DraftKings – lock and load in cash games.
Chris Carson lost yet another fumble in week 3, but still record 15 carries. While his production has been downright dreadful, Pete Carroll openly endorsed the running back on multiple occasions this week. I’m not one to hang onto coach speak above all else, but I’ll take this and run with it in a matchup like this that should come with a ton of positive game script and a lightning-quick pace, especially if Rashaad Penny is out again.
Cash Plays: Wilson, Lockett, Dissly, Carson (DK)
GPP Plays: Metcalf, Carson (FD)
Arizona Cardinals
Kyler Murray was well on his way to his first monster fantasy game last week, but rounded out the second half by throwing a pair of picks to put a disappointing touch on a promising game. The Seahawks were diced up by the Drew Brees-less Saints last week, but that cam at the hands of Alvin Kamara more than anyone else. This is not a matchup that I recommend targeting Murray.
On the flip side, he’s going to have to throw and someone is going to have to catch. Christian Kirk and Larry Fitzgerald have been soaking up targets, but Kirk has been seeing an upward trend over the course of the first 3 weeks. After catching only 4 of 12 targets in Week 1, he caught 6 of 8 in week 2 and 10 of 12 in week 3. Seattle actually ranks in the bottom half of the league in pass DVOA (17th), giving Kirk an unusually safe floor, especially on DraftKings. Fitzgerald leads the team with 7 red-zone targets and holds an overall target% of 23.66%, making him viable on DraftKings as well, but there isn’t a need to go there in cash.
David Johnson is dirt cheap at $6,800 on FanDuel and has been dominating the backfield work in Arizona, recording 81% of the touches last week. The addition of Jadeveon Clowney has the Seahawks sitting at 6th in rush DVOA, but Johnson is involved enough in the passing game to give him more than enough upside in GPPs at that price.
Cash Plays: Kirk (DK)
GPP Plays: Fitzgerald, Johnson, Kirk (FD)
