NFL DFS game by game breakdown: Week 4
By Joe Metz
NFL DFS: Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears
The Vikings have made it abundantly clear they want to jam the ball down their opponent’s throat on the ground and Dalvin Cook has done just that. He’s seen 20+ carries in 3 consecutive weeks and has topped 21 fantasy points each outing. He should continue to be the workhorse, but in a matchup against the best defense in the NFL, I’ll be designating him for GPPs this week at his heightened price.
Adam Thielen has commanded a 31.75% share of the targets in the offense, which is an elite mark, but he’s only garnered 20 targets through 3 games, a clear result of the new offensive scheme. Because of the decrease in volume and matchup against an elite secondary, he’s a GPP play at best this week. In the same matchup, Stefon Diggs comes in carrying a 20.63% target share but has only averaged 4.3 targets per game. He’s a massive fade along with Kirk Cousins and the rest of the passing attack.
Even with the 28-point outburst against the Redskins last week, I have a hard time endorsing the Bears’ offense, making the Vikings defense a fully viable play.
Cash: Vikings D/ST
GPP: Cook, Thielen
Chicago Bears
Don’t let last week’s outburst against a putrid Redskins defense fool you – there is a massive lack of fantasy value in this offense. I’d bet more than the world that Taylor Gabriel will never come close to replicating the 3-TD performance he had last game and Mitch Trubisky demonstrated time and time again how easy it is for him to miss wide open receivers (see Allen Robinson target in end-zone that was intercepted).
David Montgomery has seen a steady increase in workload throughout each of the first three weeks, but I won’t be targeting him against a stout Vikings defense.
Cash Plays: Bears D/ST
GPP Plays: none
