Recapping all the recappable action from the September 25 edition of NXT UK, featuring Noam Dar taking on Trent Seven in the main event.

As time winds on and NXT UK continues to air episodes taped in the nights following the now nearly month-old TakeOver: Cardiff, the brand continues to build towards its next step. What exactly is that next step? We don’t know yet! But surely there is a step, and when it’s time to get stepping that step will get stepped upon.

All that being said, let’s walk across a level surface that could in no way be mistaken for a step and talk about the September 25 edition of NXT UK: British Scheme Style.

Seven-Eleven

After weeks (two) of tormenting Trent Seven with his now signature brand of obnoxious behavior, Noam Dar successfully rabble roused himself into a match. A match with a guy who wants to lariat his head off. We could call him careless, but it all seemed rather like the part of some scheme. A foolish scheme, but an at least somewhat thought out scheme. And … the scheme worked?

Dar appears to act like an idiot every waking second of the day, but he might just be a savant. By wrestling law — as the SmackDown Top 10 List pioneered and NXT UK continues to uphold — wins and losses matter. Whether Dar recognized his physical shortcomings against the larger Seven, or just wanted to have the most fun possible before stealing a win, he got that win.

It’s just, it wasn’t exactly what you would call a “pretty” win. Every movement that Dar made that wasn’t wrestling maneuver-related was to taunt or rile up Seven. He mockingly twirled an imaginary moustache, condescendingly struck some Moustache Mountain poses and aggressively pulled at Seven’s real moustache. A whole lot of moustache-based chicanery.

Eventually, the building frustration compels Seven to level Dar with a lariat so authoritative it almost turns Dar into an actual supernova. Unfortunately for Seven however, Dar’s will to continue to annoy allows him to kick out. Seven goes for a Burning Hammer but Dar again pulls at the moustache, allowing him to clobber Seven in the back of the head. That, however, also only gets a two-count and Dar is basically screaming in agony that the match isn’t over yet. What’s a guy gotta do to cheat to win around here?

Luckily for Dar, he saved his best trick for last. While setting up for the Nova Roller, Dar grabs Seven’s British Strong Style commemorative towel and starts dabbing his armpits with it. If that’s not disrespectful enough for you, he then sticks it partially down his tights before charging at his opponent.

Seven counters with another lariat, but then notices the towel, and begins to assault Dar. And assault him. And assault him. Finally the referee’s count to break it up reaches five and he is forced to end the match. Your winner by disqualification, Noam Dar. THE PRESTIGE. British Scheme Style at its finest.
