Matchday 7 of the Premier League is almost upon us and there are some great fixtures to look forward to. Here are five bold predictions for all the action.
Another blockbuster Premier League weekend is almost upon us and thereās some great games to get ourselves stuck into. The weekend kicks off on Saturday with Liverpoolās visit to face newly-promoted Sheffield United whilst Bournemouth host West Ham in an 6th v 5th place match-up.
Marco Silvaās Everton need to find consistency but they have the daunting prospect of hosting a Manchester City side that scored EIGHT goals last weekend. This could still be an entertaining match with both sides trying to play soccer the right way.
Newcastle have a tough trip away to high-flying Leicester on Sunday and the weekend closes out on Monday when Arsenal travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United. Here are five bold predictions for all the action.
5. Sheffield United end Liverpoolās unbeaten run
The first game of the Premier League weekend sees one hundred percenters, Liverpool, travel to face newly-promoted Sheffield United. United have already caused some upsets this season, most recently with an impressive 2-0 win away at Everton.
Liverpool have been perfect in the League this season and havenāt lost in the Premier League since their crucial defeat at Manchester City on the 3rd of January. Jurgen Kloppās side already hold a five point lead over City and if they maintain this form then they could finally lift the Premier League trophy.
This game wonāt be easy for the Reds though as Sheffield United are a determined and well managed side. Chris Wilder has the Blades brilliantly organised but they also never know when theyāre beaten which was evident in their recovery from a 2-0 deficit away at Cheslea.
Wilderās side are gritty and it will not be easy for Liverpool to break them down. The Reds had a frustrating opening period away at Burnley and they should face something similar this weekend at Bramall Lane. That weekend it took a freak deflection for Liverpool to open the scoring and they may need something similar against Sheffield United.
For Sheffield United this match will be all about concentration. Ultimately these games wonāt matter too much as nobody will be expecting them to get anything from them. However, Chris Wilder wonāt have his team thinking like this and if they can hold onto a draw at half-time heāll make sure his players feel like they can get something out of the match.
Thatās exactly how it will be at the half on Saturday, with Liverpool frustrated and running out of ideas on how to score. They will come out and batter the Sheffield United defense but to no avail as they leave Bramall Lane with just a point.
