Daily Fantasy Football: Running Back Pivots

Leonard Fournette is a polarizing figure in fantasy football. I am personally not a big fan of his game, but I simply can’t ignore the massive workload that he is getting in this Jacksonville offense. His snap share is 92%, market share of the team’s carries is 75%, and he has a 20% share of all the team’s receiving targets. Simply stated, the Jags really don’t have a lot of offensive weapons and are looking to get the big bruising back out of LSU the ball as often as they can.

Targeting volume is something we have to do in fantasy sports, even if we aren’t crazy about the player or his skill set. Fournette has yet to have a big game yet and hasn’t found the end zone, but when you have a guy who is this cheap who continues to get 20 touches a game and is a goalline back you have to think that some touchdown progression is coming.

The Denver defense has been soft against the running back position this year and I expect the Jags to pound Fournette early and often in this game which has the feel of a grind-it-out type game between two teams that want to run the football.
