DFS advice: Week 4 fantasy football start or sit
DFS Advice: Quarterbacks to Start
Russell Wilson (SEA) @ ARI
For the last several years, Russell Wilson has been notoriously dubbed a fantasy slow-starter. He would usually struggle to put up strong fantasy numbers for managers in the early stages of the season, before warming up and finishing as a top-end QB. This year he seems to have skipped the sluggish start and is already lighting up defenses at a premium and comes in as one of our top DFS Advice Plays for Week 4. Through three weeks of play, Wilson sits fourth among active quarterbacks in terms of total fantasy points.
During this span, he has also completed over 70.0% of his passes for 902 yards, seven touchdowns, and no interceptions. Wilson is also still using his legs as he has rushed 17 times (third-most) for 81 yards and a pair of scores. The Seahawks will be traveling to the desert to take on the Arizona Cardinals who have allowed the third-most fantasy points per game to opposing signal-callers (27.6/gm) this season.
Dak Prescott (DAL) @ NO
Dak Prescott has been very impressive so far during his contract-season with the Dallas Cowboys. So far in the three games that he has started in, Prescott has completed 74.5% of his passes for 920 yards, nine touchdowns, and two picks. Believe it or not, he is third behind Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson in fantasy points among quarterbacks this year. Maybe it’s the extra motivation of a potentially big contract looming in the distance that’s driving Prescott to be better than he has been the last two seasons.
Not since his rookie year have we seen people fighting to start him on a week-to-week basis. Dallas will be heading to Louisiana where they will take on a porous Saints’ secondary that has allowed the second-most passing yards to quarterbacks this year. Continue to ride the hot-hand with Prescott while you can.
Philip Rivers (LAC) @ MIA
Rivers remains as the final quarterback standing from the 2004 big-three draft class. Ben Roethlisberger went down with an elbow injury that will require season-ending surgery, and Eli Manning has been benched for newcomer Daniel Jones. It seems like we are approaching an end of an era, but Rivers may be able to give it one final gasp this year. Particularly, this week is intriguing as he will be visiting South Florida to face off against the Miami Dolphins.
So far in 2019, opposing quarterbacks have enjoyed a great deal of success against the Dolphins’ secondary as they have scored the most fantasy points by far. I expect this trend to continue because of how well top wideout Keenan Allen is playing (leading the league in receiving yards), and the fact that Rivers is third in passing yards this year. Only Patrick Mahomes and Andy Dalton, yes I said Andy Dalton has more. Rivers is a safe start this week and should be able to provide a healthy production to starting rosters.
