Nebraska hosting Ohio State and College GameDay certainly had Cornhuskers fans fired up but how good were the GameDay signs in Lincoln?
Coming into the 2019 college football season, a Week 5 matchup featuring the Ohio State Buckeyes going to Lincoln to face the Nebraska Cornhuskers was circled as a marquee game. The Buckeyes have lived up to their end of the bargain while the Huskers have faltered a bit early in the year. Even still, the Big Ten showdown was big enough for College GameDay to make the trip.
Whenever College GameDay heads to a place like Lincoln, the GameDay signs are often top-notch. These fans live and breathe Nebraska football and that always comes through in the crowd behind the crew. And that’s especially true when a team like Ohio State, who opposing fans love to hate, comes to town.
As for the matchup on the field, things could be exciting. Justin Fields and the Buckeyes have been rolling in a big way. Meanwhile, the Cornhuskers have shown tremendous offensive prowess with quarterback Adrian Martinez at the helm. Thus, Chase Young and the OSU defense will be put to the test. Of course, Fields and Young, in addition to Ryan Day and others, were always going to be targets for GameDay signs.
The hope is that the football lives up to the hype on Saturday night in primetime. But as for the pre-Saturday show, how did the fans deliver? Let’s take a look at the best College GameDay signs from Ohio State vs. Nebraska in Lincoln for Week 5:
