Ohio State vs. Nebraska preview, prediction, odds, TV channel, live stream
Justin Fields and the No. 5 Ohio State Buckeyes look to continue their hot start to the season with a trip to Nebraska with College GameDay in attendance.
Through the first four weeks of the season, this Ohio State team is entering historically great levels of success, with many analysts claiming them as the top team in the country. Fields looks just as good as advertised and the defense that struggled mightily last season, has seen vast improvements this season already.
For Nebraska, they have gotten off to a relatively slow start, falling to Colorado for the second straight season in Week 2, and barely escaping Illinois last week. The Cornhuskers, a team that picked by many to win the Big Ten West, has seen great production from some of their young guys. But the rest of the team hasn’t been quite up to par.
The young guys, quarterback Adrian Martinez and do-it-all player Wan’dale Robinson, have been excellent. Particularly in their latest game where Martinez threw for 327 yards and three touchdowns while Robinson rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown. Martinez also added 188 yards rushing in the contest as well. Those two combined for 604 yards of offense on the day, where the total yards of offense for Nebraska was 690.
As for the defenses on both teams, Ohio State holds the clear advantage as they are currently No. 4 in the country in points allowed, only giving up an average of nine points per game. Nebraska ranks No. 48 in that same category giving up 25.2 points on average per game.
Both of these squads come into this game at 1-0 in the Big Ten. A win in this game for Nebraska would be enormous, and completely shift the narrative on their season thus far. If Ohio State can come out of this game with another convincing victory, it’s going to be hard to call anyone else the best team in the country.

Prediction: If there is one place that Nebraska might have the chance of exploiting the Ohio State defense, it’s through the air. The Buckeyes showed some vulnerabilities against Miami OH last week on the first drive of the game and Martinez will be by far the best quarterback they have faced so far this season. I think the fact that this is a home night game for Nebraska, and this is the first time that Fields will get a start in a hostile Big Ten environment, should keep them in this game. But overall, like every game this season, the Buckeye’s talent will be too much. I’ll take Nebraska to cover the spread and the under in this one.
Score: Ohio State 31, Nebraska 17
