Saturday Night Live is returning to NBC for its 45th season with host Woody Harrelson and musical guest Billie Eilish. Here’s how to watch online and on TV.
The Saturday Night Live draught is finally over. After concluding its 44th season in the spring, SNL is back again. They’re mixing old and new this week, with returning host Woody Harrelson and new musical guest Billie Eilish.
Harrelson will be there, no doubt, to promote Zombieland: Double Tap, coming to theaters Oct. 18 — so we’re hoping a Zombieland sketch is in store for the show. Or, at the least, costars Jesse Eisenberg and Four-Timers Club member Emma Stone could have a quick cameo. SNL’s premiere episode, Christmas episode and finale are always ripe for cameos, so let’s hope this is a good one.
As for Eilish, the “Bad Guy” singer recently announced she’ll be going on a world tour in 2020.
There was a bit of SNL news prior to the season’s return — some good, some bad. The show had announced the arrival of three new featured cast members, Bowen Yang, Chloe Fineman and Shane Gills. Though, Gills was quickly let go, as Deadline reports, for the “prior use of [a] racial slur.”
That leaves just two new cast members. Other cast member updates include Leslie Jones’ unexpected departure and the promotion of Heidi Gardner and Chris Redd as full-time cast members.
Undoubtedly, there are definitely a lot of changes to Saturday Night Live this season, and Jones will certainly be missed. But the show has a lot of catching up to do, and we’re sure a certain impeachment inquiry could launch the start of the show’s cold open.
