DraftKings Showdown: Cheap Options

Latavius Murray – $3,200

In what was a split backfield with Kamara and Ingram that has yet to be the case with Latavius Murray. Three games in Murray has only seen 28% of the snaps, while Kamara has been on the field for 76%.

A lot of that has to do with the Brees injury as they have been trailing for two of the three games. In order for the Saints to have a chance, they must establish the run and get Murray more involved. As we learned from Thursday night, it is never a bad thing to have the #2 option in a rushing attack that can be split 50-50.

Taysom Hill – $2,600

At $2600, Taysom Hill is the joker of this slate. If Bridgewater struggles, Sean Payton very well could make the move and bench Bridgewater for Hill at any point Sunday night. The jack of all trades WR/QB/RB/TE has standalone value as a gadget player as he is utilized in the red-zone often.

If Payton decided to bench Bridgewater and Hill played a half at quarterback, he will 100% be in the winning lineup. I will probably burn a lineup or two with him as my Captain, but also completely fade him on a lot of lineup builds. You should have shares of Hill in your flex as he really is the biggest unknown on the slate and could smash his value. HIGH RISK PLAY

Blake Jarwin – $1,000

Much like Thursday night, the Cowboys will be running a decent amount of 12 personnel making both Witten and Jarwin viable low-priced options. While Witten is on the field for 65% of plays, Jarwin has been on for 41% of snaps and has five catches on the year. He has the athletic ability to make some plays after the catch, but with his limited usage, he is only a sprinkle for me Sunday night.

Tavon Austin – $200

With New Orleans being one of the most giving teams to slot receivers in terms of production, Austin becomes a viable option at only $200 should he play. While Austin is not on the field often, he is utilized in the slot and has specialized packages for him when he is on the field. I will have some sprinkles of Austin in lineups in which I am trying to jam in the top plays on the slate.

DraftKings Showdown: Special Teams / Defensive Flex Options

Cowboys – $4,000

Not too often do I take the away defense in a showdown slate, but with Teddy Bridgewater at quarterback the Cowboys defense is in play. With only a few lower priced options, the Cowboys could hold the Saints to under 10 points and get a defensive score.

Brett Maher – $3,800

Wil Lutz – $3,600

In what is likely a lower scoring game, both kickers are in play as they will have perfect weather conditions inside the dome. With four high-priced plays, you will need to find some values on this slate and the Kickers offer the highest floors in this range.

DraftKings Showdown: Game Script Thoughts

The Cowboys opened as a 1.5 point road favorite with a total of 45. The line now has the Cowboys as a 3 point favorite and the total has risen to 47. The Sportsbooks are going to need the Saints for their lungs Sunday night as the public will be all over the Cowboys.

I do not see this as just a public side, as I believe the Sharps will also lay anything under a field goal as Bridgewater is simply outmatched. This Cowboys team is balanced on offense under Kellen Moore and solid on defense. I think this game goes under the posted total and the Cowboys cover the 3.
