Leicester have got off to a great start to the Premier League season. With 11 points in their first six games, the Foxes now have top four expectations. On Sunday, Leicester host Newcastle at King Power Stadium. The Magpies have again got off to a poor start to the season and look like they will be fighting to avoid relegation again this season.
Leicester picked up their third win in their last four games last weekend, beating Tottenham 2-1. James Maddison’s last goal proved to be the winner for the Foxes. Maddison has been incredible in midfield for Leicester, forming a strong partnership with Youri Tielemans. The duo have combined for three assists and have provided strong service to Jamie Vardy and former Newcastle striker Ayoze Perez. Vardy is off to another good start to the season with three goals this season.
Newcastle have five points in their first six games of the season. The Magpies were held to a scoreless draw by Brighton in their last game. Scoring goals is again a problem for Newcastle this season. The Magpies have scored only four goals this season and are unlikely to score many times under ultra-conservative manager Steve Bruce. Newcastle bought Joelinton for a club-record fee of €44 million but the Brazilian has scored only one goal. If Newcastle are going to benefit from the purchase of Joelinton, they need to do a better job of getting him the ball inside of the box.

Sunday’s game will be the second time this season that Leicester and Newcastle have played against each other. The clubs played in the second round of the EFL Cup on Aug. 28, with Leciester advancing on penalties. Since Newcastle were promoted back in the Premier League two seasons ago, the Foxes and Magpies have each won twice, with each club both winning their away games.
