Galatasaray face Paris Saint-Germain at the Turk Telekom Stadium on Tuesday, Oct. 1. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
In the second game of the Champions League group stage, Galatasaray host Paris Saint-Germain in Istanbul. In their first game, Galatasaray went to Belgium and held Club Brugge to a scoreless draw. PSG thrashed Real Madrid, winning 3-0 behind two Angel Di Maria goals.
Galatasaray have got off to a disappointing start in the Turkish Super Lig. After six games, the Lions have nine points. The biggest problem for Galatasaray has been their difficulty scoring goals. In their eight games in all competitions this season, the Lions have scored seven goals. Ryan Babel and Younes Belhanda lead the club with two goals this season. However, against one of the most offensively gifted clubs in Europe, manager Fatih Terim will likely use a very conservative gameplan and will try to hold PSG to a draw.
PSG are again first in the Ligue 1 table. However, winning Ligue 1 again will not be good enough for manager Thomas Tuchel if he wants to keep his job. The German manager will be judged on his Champions League success. The Champions League is the only trophy that has eluded PSG in their history. In their opening game against Real Madrid, PSG won 3-0 despite not having Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe.
The club will again be without Neymar who is serving a suspension while Cavani could miss the game with an injury. Mbappe will rejoin the starting XI in place of Mauro Icardi, who could miss Tuesday’s game with an injury. No matter who starts in the front three for Tuchel, PSG will be a threat to score multiple goals against Galatasaray.
