Week 5 Fantasy Football: Five bounce back players

Tom Brady – It is a very rare occasion that we would ever be talking about as a bounce-back player. He had a dreadful game in week four against the Bills, with a 50% completion rate, no touchdowns, and one interception. It was by far his worst game of the season, against one of the better passing defenses in the league. In week five he will get a very soft match-up against one of the worst passing defenses in Washington.

They give up the fifth-most points to quarterbacks, with a 42.1% DVOA against the pass, and a 4.9% adjusted sack rate which is 28th in the league. The Redskins have been playing at a faster pace this season, but that was with Keenum under center. He was replaced by Haskins last game after a bad performance, and since they are in full-on tank mode, It is still to be determined on who will be playing come Sunday. That will have a bigger impact on this game then some people might realize.

What this means is that Tom will have plenty of time to sit back in the pocket and do what he does best. That is picking apart defenses, exposing the weak points. Another thing to note is that Josh Norman got banged up in that last game, and will likely be playing at less than 100%. He did not look great before the injury but looked significantly worse afterward, which is to be expected. Before that last game, Tom had seven touchdowns and zero turnovers. The completion rate has been slightly down, but still over 60%. Brady will be a top candidate for a bounce back performance, it comes at a pretty cheap price tag.
