Slavia Prague face Borussia Dortmund at Sinobo Stadium on Wednesday, Oct. 2. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
The second game of the Champions League group stage kicks off on Wednesday in Group F as Slavia Prague host Borussia Dortmund at Sinobo Stadium. Slavia opened the group stage with a shocking draw against Inter Milan. While Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona played to a scoreless draw in Dortmund.
Slavia Prague are unbeaten this season. The Red and Whites are first in the Fortuna Liga and are trying to get out of the Champions League group stage for the first time in club history. It will not be easy for the Czech club as they were drawn into the most difficult group. Manager Jindrich Trpisovsky’s team has been successful because they are getting goals from multiple players. Five different players have scored at least three goals this season, with Josef Husbauer and Milan Skoda are tied for the team lead with five goals.
Dortmund have had a very disappointing start to the season. Lucien Favre’s side are expected to challenge Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga but are eighth in the table after six games. Dortmund are coming off of back to back 2-2 draws in the Bundesliga. While Paco Alcacer, Marco Reus and Jadon Sancho can score goals in a hurry, Dortmund have struggled to defend. Alcacer could miss Wednesday’s game with an injury. When Alcacer was unable to play last season, Favre started Reus or Mario Gotze at striker. When forced to use Reus or Gotze at striker, Dortmund often struggled to score goals at the same rate they do when Alcacer is on the field.
