College football betting results against the spread week 5 2019

We had our largest college football betting week of the season so far with 51 FBS vs. FBS games in week 5. How many of those 51 did I get right? Better yet, how about those ever elusive college football betting points?

We can miss most but as long as we get the big ones right, we still come out ahead. Was that my fate? I had a strong week in pick em, which usually means a good college football betting weekend. Last week I had a bad week despite my best week of the season in pick em, but I’m still above water on the season. That will have to do for now.

Here we will recap my college football betting picks against the spread. The winner against the spread will be in BOLD. My result will follow. Let’s get to it!

In case you want to follow along:
Thursday-Friday
Saturday

First, the pre weekend picks:

Navy at Memphis(-10.5): MISS! It was a valiant effort by the Middies to win this for me after Nelson Smith went down, but the offense suffered a big hit early in the game and the Memphis run defense held tough all night.

Duke at Virginia Tech(-2.5): HIT! I wasn’t expecting a Duke blowout, but hey, a win is a win.

Penn State(-6.5) at Maryland: HIT! This was easy money. Sean Clifford lit up the Turtles and KJ Hamler showed that he is still one of the best receivers in the conference.

San Jose State at Air Force(-18.5): HIT! I had to be saved by a last minute Spartans touchdown. The Spartans had no answer for the Air Force option attack.

Arizona State at California(-4.5): MISS! The loss of Chase Garbers was huge for Cal. UCLA transfer Devon Modster was ineffective through the air and couldn’t keep the offense moving.
