Daily Fantasy Football: Tight End Pivots

Chalk: Tyler Eifert, Darren Waller, Zach Ertz

Pivots: Mark Andrews, Dawson Knox, Noah Fant

I won’t talk anyone out of playing chalk Eifert this week since every tight end this season has destroyed the Cardinals, however, I will point out he has only a 44% snap share and is averaging only 4 targets per game. Waller has been a beast, but has a tough matchup with Chicago and Ertz is expensive (I’d rather pay up at other positions).

Mark Andrews has seven or more targets in all four of Baltimore’s games this season. He busted as a chalky play in week 3 but was limited with an injury in that game. He bounced back nicely last week with another touchdown, giving him 3 on the season.

He has a 23.8% hog rate which is 4% higher than Darren Waller. He’s just not playing enough snaps (48%) or he would be absolutely smashing even more than he is. In a huge game against a division rival this week, we could see Andrews in there more often and the Steelers are vulnerable in the middle of the field where Andrews does most of his best work. He’s my favorite tight end on the slate this week.

Dawson Knox (wait that’s an NFL player?) is one of two sneaky, cheap plays at tight end. He’s seen his role in the Buffalo offense grow the last two weeks, as he’s piled up 125 yards and a touchdown on 6 catches. He’ll face a Titans offense that was gashed by Austin Hooper last week and with Matt Barkley in there for Buffalo, I think we could see the Bills scheme him as many safe, high-percentage throws as possible, which could mean more targets for Knox.

Fant is a bit of a dart-throw but is only 2800 on DK this week. He finally found the end zone last week but is still only getting 3-4 targets a game. The good news is he’s playing 72% of the snaps and all you need from him is a few catches and a touchdown for him to make value and allow you the flexibility to jam in some high-priced running backs.
