Wide Receivers to Start

Cooper Kupp (LAR) @ SEA

Believe it or not, it’s not Robert Woods or Brandin Cooks who has the most fantasy points scored among the Los Angeles Rams’ receiving crew. Cooper Kupp is currently WR4 as he has compiled 32 grabs on 46 targets for 389 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Kupp also spends nearly 80% of his snap shares in the slot which is very ideal in fantasy. Slot receivers tend to get a high volume of passes from their quarterbacks and that’s exactly what’s happening with Kupp. He is averaging 11.5 targets per game and making the most of those opportunities that Jared Goff has given him. The Seahawks’ secondary isn’t what it used to be and Thursday night games usually involve one team playing well and another not. I suspect the Rams will have a lot of motivation after losing to Tampa Bay last week, giving them the slight edge in this West Coast rivalry battle. This in turn, will increase Kupp’s likelihood to get opportunities and hopefully that will translate into points on your fantasy roster for this week. He’s a solid WR2 option with a great deal of upside.

Alshon Jeffrey (PHI) vs. NYJ

While Jeffrey has only played in two games this season due to a calf injury, he has been able to find the end zone three times in that span. He will also be going up against a Jets secondary that has not looked good through their first three games of the regular season. New York has surrendered on average the most +20-yard plays to opposing wideouts this year. The Eagles are desperate for another win to keep themselves alive within the division and they are currently riding high after a huge victory against the Green Bay Packers Thursday night. Jeffrey will be a big part of their plan as he has gobbled up over 80.0% of Philadelphia’s snap shares this year. Expect to see the Eagles get off to a fast start through the air as they look to build off of the momentum they had in Week 4.

Chris Godwin (TB) @ NO

Godwin came off a career day against the Rams Sunday as he caught 12 passes on 14 targets for 172 yards and two scores. The Saints may have a good run defense, but their secondary is a completely different story to speak of. They currently have allowed the most receiving yards to pass-catchers as well as the most fantasy points per game. This match-up between the Saints and Buccaneers is primed to what many hope to be a high-scoring affair with fantasy points aplenty for any players involved. Godwin should be one of them to benefit greatly in this fantasy owner’s dream come true scenario.
