Matchday 8 of the Premier League is almost upon us and there are some great fixtures to look forward to. Here are five bold predictions for all the action.

Premier League fans have one more weekend of exciting soccer to catch before the international break takes over again. There are some great games to feast our eyes on including Liverpool hosting Leicester and Aston Villa’s trip to face Norwich.

Sheffield United look to continue their good start to Premier League life as they travel to Watford whilst Brighton will hope to condemn Tottenham to another defeat in Saturday’s early kick off. The weekend is rounded off when Newcastle host Manchester United on Sunday. Here are five bold predictions for all the action.

5. Newcastle beat Manchester United

The final game of the weekend sees an unconvincing Manchester United travel to face off against a struggling Newcastle. Both sides desperately need a victory but both managers may be struggling to think where that’s going to come from.

Newcastle were very poor against Brighton a couple of weeks ago and then last weekend they were dismantled by a rampant Leicester side. They finally  had a playing identity at the end of last season but under Steve Bruce’s guidance they seem to have lost this.

Manchester United are looking as bad as they did at the end of last season and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer won’t remain in the job much longer if this streak continues. They should get the win this weekend but the Red Devils are lacking confidence, as demonstrated in their lackluster performance against Arsenal last Monday.

United’s lack of confidence coupled with the fact that Newcastle have nothing to lose this weekend could see a shock result occur. The Magpies have already pulled off one shock this season when they beat Spurs in London and if they can produce a similar kind of performance then they might stand a chance against the Manchester club.

They will need to be much more defensively secure than they were last weekend and more importantly they’ll need to show some attacking intent. If they do this and pressure this unsure Manchester United side then they will get chances.

Solskjaer doesn’t seem to have rekindled the inspiration that he brought when he first took over from Jose Mourinho last season. This United squad look like a mid-table squad but they’ve got some very expensive players who should be doing more for them on the pitch.

This game will be close with Newcastle coming out on top 2-1. Joelinton will grab an early opener before Marcus Rashford equalizes. The Red Devils will come out second best though after Matt Ritchie seals the win with a penalty.
