4. Oakland Raiders

The Raiders have plenty of 2019 cap space right now ($27.32 million, via Over The Cap). So they can take on Diggs for the rest of this season without having to do any tweaking, and their balance sheet down the road opens up possibilities for significant moves. They went all in for Antonio Brown during the offseason, only to have that blow up on them very quickly, but Diggs is a different situation entirely.

While the Raiders were set to pay Brown a lot of money as he would have inevitably started to decline, Diggs is still firmly in his prime at 25 years old with fairly palatable camp numbers going forward ($14.5 million in 2020, $15 million in 2021 and 2022, $12 million in 2023). And that leaves out the difference in personality or otherwise, with Brown bringing a whole different level of distractions that no one can match.

If Diggs has his eyes on becoming a bigger star, as much as he could dictate a possible trade destination, the Raiders’ looming move to Las Vegas surely would appeal to him. Adding a young playmaker, for Derek Carr now and most likely a different quarterback after this year, has to be on Jon Gruden’s radar.
