Week 7 of the college football season didnāt disappoint as some Top 25 matchups went down to the wire. What kind of movement will we see?
The biggest game of the week didnāt disappoint as Auburn and Florida played a close game that was decided late in the fourth quarter. It didnāt feature much in the way of beautiful offensive play but the defenses for both teams were outstanding. Florida got the win in The Swamp to remain undefeated and hand Auburn their first loss of the year. The Gators effectively could swap spots with the Tigers in Sundayās new AP Poll.
Beyond that, Iowa was another undefeated team to suffer their first loss as Michigan won with their defense to outlast the Hawkeyes, 10-3 in the Big House. It was another ugly offensive showing for the Wolverines but if the defense plays like that every week, theyāll at least be a tough team to beat, unless itās Penn State or Ohio State with a living breathing offense.
The primetime affair between Ohio State and Michigan State began with another old school Big Ten slugfest. But then J.K. Dobbins, Justin Fields and the Ohio State offense floored it in the second quarter to pull away from the Spartans. Michigan State will drop out of the AP Poll again while the Buckeyes might get a little closer toward the top three.
Letās take a look at what the Week 7 AP Poll Top 25 should look like when released at 2 p.m.

After making the Top 25 for the first time since the death penalty from the NCAA, SMU flirted with dropping right out but managed to beat Tulsa in triple overtime. The voters shouldnāt penalize the Mustangs for winning, but I also wouldnāt be surprised to see them drop a spot.
We know for sure Oklahoma State should drop out after the No. 21 Cowboys were handled from the start in a 45-35 loss to Texas Tech. They could be replaced by fellow Big 12 member Baylor who is still undefeated after beating Kansas State, 31-12.
