A look at the live stream info, start time, match card and predictions for the 2019 edition of WWE Hell in a Cell.
It’s been a crazy week in the world of professional wrestling, hasn’t it? AEW made their TV debut with Dynamite on Wednesday night, beating NXT in the ratings in the first week of this new “war” that everyone is trying to make happen (FYI, we live in a world of DVR … you can watch both).
SmackDown premiered on FOX on Friday night with a ton of marketing and hoopla surrounding it, including the return of The Rock and the return of ridiculous Brock Lesnar beatdowns to win titles. Poor Kofi Kingston. And Tyson Fury and Cain Velasquez were there as well, because there’s nothing that gets us more excited about professional wrestling than boxers and MMA fighters! But that KO-Shane McMahon match was nice, wasn’t it?
Monday Night Raw made its season premiere with Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair getting after one another to set up a five-on-five match for Saudi Arabia that could maybe be entertaining. And are we forgetting something? Oh yeah, there’s the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view set for Sunday evening in Sacramento. It’s hard to recall heading into a pay-per-view where less than a handful of matches have been announced, which is where we find ourselves right now. Luckily, those four matches should be stellar.
So seeing as how WWE might not be giving us any idea of what’s happening until right around showtime, we’ll run through the matches that we know are happening and then throw around a few guesses on what else could possibly happen. Crazy times!

WWE Hell in a Cell 2019 match card
WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins vs. “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt (Hell in a Cell Match)
After defeating Braun Strowman last month at Clash of Champions, WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins found himself on the receiving end of an attack from “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt and has been terrorized by him ever since. Rollins has been playing the scared victim quite nicely and Wyatt has never been better, and that’s saying something.
Limiting Wyatt’s in-ring matches has been a great call as it only adds more drama to the storyline and we don’t get burned out on this particular character. We know Bray’s in-ring work is stellar when given the right opponent, and a Hell in a Cell bout with Rollins should be fantastic.
Prediction: With Wyatt’s merchandise sales rising and Rollins’ dipping, WWE makes the title switch here. The rumor is that Rollins’ recent title runs haven’t been what Vince McMahon hoped they would be and it wouldn’t surprise at all to see him drop the belt here.
Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks (Hell in a Cell Match)
This has been the best feud since SummerSlam, with Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks going back and forth for weeks on end. The intensity has been fantastic throughout and it would be best if this is the match to close out the show, even if it most likely won’t. This is likely to get very violent, quickly, and I’m sure that some steel chairs will make their way into the cell as well.
Prediction: With her level of popularity, Lynch seems like she is on her way to Friday Night SmackDown in the draft to help boost the FOX ratings, which is all that seems important to Vince right now. So I’m going to go with Sasha winning the Raw Women’s Championship via some sort of screwy finish.
SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley vs. Charlotte Flair
After a cheap loss at Clash of Champions, Charlotte Flair had every right to a rematch at Hell in a Cell, and that match has now been made official. I was hoping for more from their match last month but they only got a few minutes, which was disappointing. With not many matches set for this show just yet, potentially these two get more time and put on a good show.
Prediction: While this new Bayley makes for a great heel champion, I’m not sure Vince is ready to have her lead the women’s division on Friday nights, and having Charlotte Flair lose another match doesn’t seem like the right call. So we’ll go with yet another title change here.
Roman Reigns & Bray Wyatt vs. Erick Rowan & Luke Harper
The only non-title match announced thus far sees Erick Rowan and Luke Harper (are we calling them The Bludgeon Brothers again yet?) take on the interesting duo of Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan, who apparently is a babyface again. This has the chance to be a fun match and should get plenty of time. I still don’t believe Harper is around for the long haul but it’s nice to see him back in the ring.
Prediction: Unless there’s some sort of swerve where Bryan really has been planning this the whole time, Roman and Bryan get the win here.
So where do we go from here? As of right now, there is no WWE Championship Match on the card and we probably won’t get a Brock Lesnar-Kofi Kingston rematch as WWE is likely looking to save Lesnar’s appearances for Friday nights. This means that after close to six months as champion, we might only get a backstage appearance from Kingston on Sunday. The way his reign ended was an absolute joke. Not only does it make him look bad, it makes every single person he beat since WrestleMania look bad as well. Cain Velasquez is here now, so that makes it okay? Nope.
As for the other titles in WWE at the moment, we could get Shinsuke Nakamura defending against Ali for the Intercontinental Championship and The Revival once again taking on The New Day for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship (maybe Kingston gets back in the ring with either Big E or Xavier Woods for that).
Perhaps we get a Raw Tag Team Championship Match on the pre-show and maybe another AJ Styles vs. Cedric Alexander match for the United States Championship. But who knows at this point? With the draft looming, it’s hard to say exactly what’s going to happen on Sunday or in the next couple of weeks, which at least makes things a bit interesting. Stay tuned, folks. We’re in for a wild ride.
