Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones was a quiet star in his sophomore season, and he’s been scoring touchdowns at a rapid pace in his third year in the league.

The Week 5 showdown between the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys was seen as a potential NFC Championship Game preview coming into the game, but the Green Bay offense did their best to make sure that only one team on the field looked like a true Super Bowl contender.

While Aaron Rodgers had a respectable performance through the air against a tough Cowboys pass defense, Aaron Jones was the true star of the show as both a rusher and a receiver.

Not only did he catch six passes for 68 yards on seven targets through three quarters to lead the Packers in receiving, but he was also at his best on the ground. Jones scored a whopping four rushing touchdowns, stretching the Packers lead to 31-3 deep into the third quarter by punching in a one-yard score.

Jones needed just 12 carries to rack up 87 yards, averaging 7.3 yards per attempt against a team that has become known for its imposing defense. But on this day, Jones made the Cowboys defense look ordinary.

Although Jones’s fantasy owners have prospered all season long, this was a special performance from the young running back. Tallying it up, those stats would give fantasy owners nearly 40 points, and PPR owners would reap even more rewards due to his six receptions.

The former fifth-round pick out of UTEP is now up to eight rushing touchdowns on the season, and he’s now scored in theĀ Packers fourth games. Add in the fact that he’s had at least six receptions in back-to-back contests, and it’s clear that Jones has indeed become the star that the Packers needed at the running back position to support their Hall-of-Fame quarterback.
