Race Winner

Kyle Larson

I picked Larson to win last week, and although he may not have had anything for eventual winner Chase Elliott (who overcame some adversity of his own to win), he was pretty much knocked out of contention due to a strange pit road penalty call that penalized him a full lap. He still came back to have a decent day, but could never quite make it all the way back up to the front like Elliott did after hitting the wall in turn one head on.

But this week is the week. For sure. I think. What I know is that Larson’s car is BAD FAST. Which is a good thing in racing. That 42 car can go anywhere on the track to pass cars at any point during a run.

Larson isn’t exactly an underdog to win according to Vegas, tied with Harvick with the second shortest odds at 6-1 behind Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr.’s 4-1, but I’d consider putting some money on him if you were inclined to do that sort of thing.

Harvick, Truex, Hamlin, and Elliott all have a great chance to win this race as well, and it could really be anyone’s for the taking at the end. But I think Larson ultimately has the best car and is one of the most talented drivers in the series, and he will find a way to victory lane and to the next round of the playoffs.
