Fantasy football picks: Week 5 MNF Browns vs. 49ers

This is not my favorite single-game slate, which is something that I hate to admit. On one hand, we have so many options from the Browns to play as the MVP. Trying to guess which one will go off is going to be the difficult part. My guess would be Chubb or Beckham, but Baker could very well come out of his early shell and have a massive performance. We also have Jimmy G and Kittle for San Fransisco, both of which could have great games, and are viable pivots in GPP’s. Ownership should be low on both of them as the MVP, so that makes perfect sense as great leverage plays.

Game theory is something that I have had to really work on going into this season, and it really takes your game to the next level once you start to get the hang of it. With single-game slates, game theory is a little bit different due to the 1.5x MVP point slot. Usually, this spot is used for the most popular play on the slate, which is normally a quarterback. However, I will tell you a little secret, very rarely do chalk MVP quarterbacks win you a single game tourney.

With that being said, in cash games you have to be a little more conservative, which I why I always recommend playing multiple GPP lineups instead of one cash lineup in these. That allows you to play much less conservative, take more chances, and have a better chance at hitting for the big one that we are all chasing.
