DraftKings EuroLeague Forwards:

CSKA dominated in the opener, but it was the guards that had the big games. Will Clyburn and Johannes Voigtmann were huge disappointments for the price. Even Nikita Kurbanov and Kyle Hines got more DraftKings points that Voigtmann did. This is a good matchup for the CSKA frontcourt, but I don’t know that I trust anyone up there beside Clyburn right now, and I think there are better plays for that price.

As expected, Derrick Williams was a monster with last year’s MVP Jan Vesely out. If Vesely is unable to go again, lock in Williams. He may not outscore the entire field again, but he’ll land at least 30 DraftKings points. If Vesely is back, I wouldn’t go out of my way to play either of them against the Belgrade front.

More from FanSided

Jordan Mickey was overshadowed by both Anthony Randolph and Walter Tavares in his Real Madrid debut. This is a situation to monitor. This is a nice matchup against Tel Aviv, but I think I would opt for Randolph over anyone else for Real Madrid right now. Even Rudy Fernandez and Jeffery Taylor had better games than Mickey. This is more muddled that fluid and will continue to fluctuate until someone separates themselves besides Randolph.

Deshaun Thomas was even better than last year in the opener. He decimated the Belgrade interior and is a strong bet to do so against Villeurbanne this week. Thomas flourished in the second half of last year, but still didn’t record a double-double. He wasted no time doing so this year.

James Gist was a massive value last week and could be again this week. So is Omri Casspi. Until DraftKings comes around on their pricing, we need to enjoy this. Both are going to destroy value again this week.

I was wrong on which Greek would be the best value for Athens last week. I rode the Papapetrou train, but it was Georgios Papagiannis who had a nice game. I like him as a value play here against Villeurbanne as well if you ride will all stars and scrubs.

Stratos Perperoglu was a big reason the Belgrade front held their own last week against Athens. Considering Fenerbahce had their issues last week, he’s an interesting dart throw this week.

Paul Zipser, Quincy Acy, and Wesley Johnson were all in the NBA in the very recent past and were all strong value plays in the EuroLeague. Often NBA transplants fare well over here. I like all of them if you need a lot of value on this slate.

If you think Moscow is heading for another blowout, Andrey Vorontsevich is an interesting punt. Voronsevich played 21 minutes in the ravaging of Valencia. Not all of that was in garbage time.
