DraftKings PGA: 2019 Houston Open Picks

$11,400 Henrik Stenson

This course fits Stenson perfectly. A true ball-strikers course that rewards golfers that keep their golf ball in the short stuff. Nobody is better at that than King Henrik. Stenson’s approach game is ridiculous, and he is clearly the best golfer in the field by a mile. The fade is probably a smart play, but there are not many golfers I want to play in the 9K and above range. Stenson’s last event was Wentworth (Euro Tour), where he finished T17. He has 2 top-10’s in his last 3 tries at GC Houston.

$10,100 Russell Henley

Henley is the course horse of all course horses and I absolutely love his form. In his last 5 starts at Golf Club of Houston, Henley is 5/5 in made cuts with a 5 top-10 finishes! That is a T7, 4th, T5, 1st, and a T8 last year for those keeping track at home. Over the past month, Henley ranks 9th in SG APP and 29th in SG TTG. He is not the biggest hitter, but he has proven that he has what it takes to tear this course apart. If the putter can get hot, he can grab his 2nd victory at GC Houston.

$8,400 Bronson Burgoon

Burgoon may be striking the ball as pure as anyone in the field. Now he gets to return to his home state to compete in a weak field, sign me up. Burgoon ranks 4th in SG APP, 29th in SG TTG, and 12th in BOB gained over his last month. The youngster played well at this event in 2018, finishing T24. He will be popular, but I am willing to eat the large price bump from the $6,800 I played him at last week.
