NBA Preseason DFS: Timberwolves @ Suns

Minnesota: Jordan Bell and David Kramer are OUT.

Phoenix: Mikal Bridges and Kelly Oubre Jr. is OUT. Aron Baynes and Frank Kaminsky are QUESTIONABLE.

Ricky Rubio makes his Phoenix debut against his first NBA team, Minnesota. After spending last year in Utah as a secondary option behind Donovan Mitchell, Rubio will get a chance to thrive in an up-tempo offense with another shooting guard who can score in Devin Booker and an excellent pick and roll partner in second-year center DeAndre Ayton.

Ayton is one of my top plays on the slate. He will be matched up against KAT, who is really a poor defender and makes little effort to contest shots. Ayton showed a polished offensive game last year for a rookie and is a 20-10 threat this season. With Bridges and Oubre not likely to play, Dario Saric could end up sliding over and getting some time at small forward and rookie Cameron Johnson even deserves a look.

For the T-Wolves, Towns, Teague, and Wiggins will take most of the shots with the first unit, but Josh Okogie is a cheap play that I like a good bit tonight. He is a hustle guy who is an athletic freak and gets his fantasy value from tracking down boards and racking up defensive stats. Rookie Jarrett Culver is the other guard I like here as coaches have raved about his performance in camp so far. He’s cheap on both sites and could get extended minutes while the starters are likely to play fewer minutes.

Elite Plays: Karl-Anthony Towns, DeAndre Ayton

Also Consider: Ricky Rubio, Devin Booker, Josh Okogie, Jarrett Culver, Jeff Teague, Dario Saric
