On this episode of MLW Fusion, lucha libre is on full display and new fighters are making their way into the major league.

Loco Lucha Libre

This week’s episode of MLW Fusion starts off with a tag team match pitting Promociones Dorado’s LA Park and Hijo de LA Park against Magnus and Septimo Dragon.

The match started out with a strange interaction as Park and Hijo shook their opponents’ hands and looked to show them respect. But of course it was a ruse and the father and son team took an immediate cheap shot on their opponents. Immediately the Parks took the match to the outside and started to use their belts and chairs to inflict damage on their opposition.

Magnus was finally able to get some separation after being beaten down for quite a bit and hit a wild slingshot corkscrew attack to the outside. His partner, Septimo, was right behind him as he hit an Asai moonsault. The Parks tried to escape into the ring but continued to be outmatched. Hijo finally turned the tide as he hit an incredible Spanish Fly as his father, LA, hit his patented, massive spear.

Both maneuvers only garnered two counts. The Parks then went up to the top rope and hit insane diving crossbodies to the floor. Magnus looked to be down for the three count back in the ring but Septimo was able to fly in and break up the pinfall. Hijo and Septimo dueled until Septimo hit a GTS which Hijo absorbed and set up a nasty Canadian destroyer.

LA went for the spear again on Magnus but missed and ran into the ring post. Magnus looked to have the match won but Park’s manager, Salina de la Renta, pulled the ref out before he could make the three count. Hijo took out Septimo as Park looked to put Magnus down. Park went up for a splash on Magnus but Magnus inadvertently placed the ref beneath Park, who crashed down on top of him. As the ref was down Magnus was low-blowed by de la Renta and rolled up for the three count.

This was a fun match that got over Park’s strength and agility. The fact that chair shots were allowed in the beginning but the heels still felt the need to take out the ref to low-blow Magnus at the end was a bit strange. But lucha libre is, by definition, chaotic and ever shifting. Septimo Dragon came out of this match looking like a strong prospect for MLW so hopefully this won’t be the last time he is seen in this company.
