DraftKings college football wide receiver picks October 11

Top Tier:

Laviska Shenault is still battling a muscle strain. With his status up in the air, it makes it really hard to turn to other Colorado receivers. Tony Brown was huge with Shenault out against Arizona. If you have time Friday night to monitor the status of Shenault up until kickoff, use Brown if Shenault is out and pivot back to Shenault if he plays.

Joe Reed may be a better play than both of them though. Reed has 32 receptions through five games. That volume alone makes him worth a look in a full PPR format like DraftKings is. Reed has a really good floor, and potential against the Miami defense.

Middle Tier:

I like Dante Wright regardless of the status of Warren Jackson, but if Jackson plays, I think I want both of them. The Lobos are allowing a staggering 386 passing yards per game. O’Brien and the Colorado State offense are going to have a huge day here.

Jacob Breeland is still the safest Oregon receiver, but who is going to have a big game alongside him? This Colorado defense is soft so there is potential for Johnny Johnson or Jaylon Redd to have big games as well. Both are massive risks though.

We all know that New Mexico doesn’t really pass much, so all of their receivers carry a risk. However, Jordan Kress has only caught five passes but three of them went for touchdowns. If you are looking for a dart throw, that’s a loaded dart.

Miami’s run defense is even better than Notre Dame’s, and we saw what a problem that was for Virginia. We also saw what that did for the Virginia receivers. Hasise Dubois had a career game against the Irish with 143 yards on nine receptions. Reed is the safe option, but both look pretty good here.

Bargain Shoppers:

Auburn transfer Nate Craig-Myers continues to be a big play option for the Rams. The return of Jackson could ding his production though, so keep an eye on that. Jackson was spotted in sweats at practice but has not escalated to a uniform or pads. Being the game is on Friday, I would say that even if Jackson plays, he’ll be limited. At any rate, I do expect NCM to be a factor once again.

Brevin Jordan was a monster once Perry took over under center. Since Perry is starting again, I do like Jordan as the main threat against Virginia’s tough defense. He’s about the only Miami player that I have interest in though.

Mycah Pittman made his presence known in his season debut against Cal. The Oregon offense should be more fluid here, meaning Pittman could put up some pretty big numbers for a very low price. Any Oregon player is a risk though. There’s a lot of mouths to feed.
