DraftKings Showdown: Cheap Options

Jakobi Meyers– $4,800

With Dorsett likely out, Jakobi Meyers will be heavily featured Thursday night. In week 3 Edelman was knocked out in the first half, in which Meyers came in and played 49 snaps. With the injury to James Develin, the Patriots operate mostly out of three-receiver sets in which Meyers will be featured in. His price and situation against a pass funnel defense make him one of the better value plays on the slate.

Rex Burkhead – $3,400

If Burkhead plays, I am going to downgrade Michel to just a flex play. The last game that both Burkhead and Michel were active, Burkhead out carried Michel making this a true running back by committee approach. If the weather is bad, a contrarian play that I am not opposed to is playing all three Patriot running backs as Burkhead and Michel should see 12+ carries while White receives 7+ targets.

Rhett Ellison – $200

With Evan Engram likely out tomorrow night. Rhett Ellison comes in as the best value on the slate at $200. The Giants should be trailing by double digits and throwing often tomorrow night making Ellison one of my higher owned Giants simply because of his price and expected target share.

DraftKings Showdown: Special Teams / Defensive Flex Options

Patriots $6,200

If the weather is awful, I will be firing up this Patriots defense in my Captain. Regardless of the weather though, I will have plenty of shares of this defense going against a depleted Giants offense. At the moment this Patriots defense averages 19.4 fantasy points per game, let that sink in.

Mike Nugent – $3,800

The Patriots should have no problem moving the football against this Giants defense making Nugent one of the best Patriot values at $3800. Be sure to have a lot of the Patriots special teams tomorrow night, as both are likely to outscore Giant players in this range.

DraftKings Showdown: Game Script Thoughts

I am expecting a lot of bad weather tomorrow night for this game. With the total hovering around 40 points and the line holding steady at 16.5, it is looking like an ugly Thursday night affair. I will be focusing the majority of my builds around ball carriers and the defenses unless the weather shifts. I would not be caught dead wagering on this game as the line is massive for such a small point total. If the weather improves, hammer the over before the bookmaker changes the line, but I am sitting this one out.
