6. CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma

A newcomer to the Heisman rankings, CeeDee Lamb was an absolute problem on Saturday in the Red River Showdown. The star wide receiver for the Sooners could not be stopped as he amassed 10 receptions for 171 yards and three touchdowns, breaking open the game on numerous occasions with monster plays throughout the day.

While Lamb only has 28 catches on the year, his production has still been downright ridiculous. The Oklahoma standout has not been consistent but, overall, he has 610 yards and 10 touchdowns through six games. If he can continue to be the big-play threat for Jalen Hurts and the Oklahoma offense that he has clearly been to this point, Lamb is no doubt going to warrant some consideration for the award.

5. Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State

As mentioned with Young, the Ohio State Buckeyes were off this week, meaning that quarterback Justin Fields was unable to add anything to the phenomenal 2019 season that he’s been enjoying in Columbus. With 26 total touchdowns on the season already (18 passing, eight rushing), he’s been a driving force for one of the best offenses and teams in the country.

The reason, though, that Fields is barely cracking the top five is that the yardage production overall simply has not been there. He’s thrown for only 1,298 yards and rushed for 283 on the season. While those aren’t bad numbers by any means, they are far from the pace that guys like Burrow, Tua and Hurts are on this season. And with those guys scoring just as much, Fields is a tier below in the Heisman race.
