WWE Draft update: Alexa Bliss, Nikki Cross traded to Friday Night SmackDown

As promised, two Monday Night Raw Superstars were traded to Friday Night SmackDown. The move was announced by Triple H on FS1.

As had been teased since Night 1 of the WWE Draft on Friday Night SmackDown, a “blockbuster” trade indeed went down, announced by Triple H on the debut of WWE Backstage on FS1 on Tuesday night.

In a move that bolster’s SmackDown‘s barren women’s division, both Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross will move from Monday Night Raw to the blue brand, with “future draft pick considerations” Raw‘s compensation for the two Superstars.

The move, which Triple H ascribed as a top priority for new SmackDown Executive Director Bruce Prichard, now gives Friday nights seven women confirmed on the roster: Bayley (its champion), Bliss, Cross, Sasha Banks, Lacey Evans, Carmella and Tamina.

Raw also has seven women confirmed to its women’s division: Champion Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Natalya, Zelina Vega (also accompanying Andrade), Liv Morgan and Women’s Tag Team Champions, The Kabuki Warriors.

Additionally, the tag teams of Fire & Desire (Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville) and The IIconics, along with Sarah Logan and Dana Brooke, remain free agents in the women’s division, with other Superstars such as Naomi, Lana, Nia Jax, Ruby Riott and Mickie James not among the two shows’ advertised draft pools. Jax, Riott and James are all recovering from major surgeries.
